Hulu Terengganu is one of the seven districts of Terengganu. Located in the hinterland, it is the biggest district of the state. Hulu Terengganu is bordered by Besut to the north, Setiu and Kuala Terengganu to the northeast, Marang to the east, Dungun to the south and Pahang to the west.

Hulu Terengganu forms the main water catchment area of the state of Terengganu. At the center of the district is Kenyir Lake, the biggest man-made lake in Southeast Asia. To the south is Taman Negara. Other sights within Hulu Terengganu include Kenyir Dam and Sekayu Waterfall.
