Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur

Jalan Pudu is a major road in Kuala Lumpur. It runs diagonally from the southeast to the heart of Kuala Lumpur in the northwest direction.
Jalan Pudu is named after the Pudu (also written during colonial times as Pudoh) district of Kuala Lumpur. In present-day Kuala Lumpur, it starts at the junction intersecting with Jalan Chan Sow Lin and across from Jalan Cheras.

The next junction is an interchange with Jalan Yew. The Pudu Police Station is on the southwest side of Jalan Pudu. Between the Jalan Yew Interchange and the intersection with Jalan Besi and Jalan Pasar, you pass by the City Medical Centre followed by the Pudu Fire Brigade on your left, and the Pudu Post Office on your right.
After the Jalan Yew intersection, Jalan Pudu continues along a stretch of commercial buildings and homes until the approach to the intersection with Jalan Hang Tuah to the left and Jalan Imbi to the right. Pudu Jail is located on the left side of the road just before the intersection. The Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur, which is the central business district of the city, is located on the Jalan Imbi side.

Beyond the Hang Tuah / Imbi intersection, you will see the Kuala Lumpur Police Headquarters on your left. You pass the western end of Jalan Bukit Bintang, characterised by budget hotels. Continuing along Jalan Pudu, you see Prince Court Medical Centre on your right followed by Swiss Garden Hotel on your left. Following that, there's the Chinese Maternity Hospital and Tung Shin Hospital on your right of Jalan Pudu, opposite the junction with Jalan Robertson.
Beyond Jalan Robertson is the now-abandoned Plaza Rakyat project, on the left side of Jalan Pudu. Immediately after that is the famous Puduraya bus terminal (at time of writing, June, 2010, under renovation). That takes us to the northwestern end of Jalan Pudu, where it connects with Jalan Tun Perak to the northwest and Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock to the west.
