Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur

Jalan Tun Razak is a major road in Kuala Lumpur. It skirts the western part of the inner city, from Lebuhraya Mahameru to Jalan Yew, and forms part of the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 1.

Jalan Tun Razak was originally known as Jalan Pekeliling, was was renamed in honour of Tun Abdul Razak bin Hussein, the late prime minister of Malaysia. Let me describe to you the entire course of the road from south to north.
Jalan Tun Razak starts at the intersection with Jalan Pudu and Jalan Cheras. At this section, Jalan Tun Razak is just a minor road. The first junction is on the left, to Jalan Gajah. The next one is to Jalan Peel, on the right. The first intersection is at Jalan Cochrane. Sight at the vicinity here is Masjid Jamek Alam Shah.
After Masjid Jamek Alam Shah, Jalan Tun Razak reaches the multi-level Loke Yew Interchange, where it intersects with Jalan Yew, Jalan Kampung Pandan and the Maju Expressway (E20). Underneath this interchange is also the exits of the SMART Tunnel. From here onwards, Jalan Tun Razak is a major multi-lane road. Among the sights in the vicinity is the Royal Selangor Golf Club, on the east side of the road.

The next major intersection is with Jalan Bukit Bintang, a major road on the left, and Jalan Kelab Golf, a minor road on the right. The embassies of Hungary, Kuwait and Indonesia are located close to the junction here, along with Prince Court Medical Centre.
The next junction is with Jalan Kia Peng. Istana Terengganu and Istana Perlis are located on this stretch of Jalan Tun Razak, between Jalan Kia Peng and Jalan Eaton. After the junction with Jalan Eaton on the left is the junction with Jalan Langgak Golf on the right. There are a few more embassies at this part of Kuala Lumpur. The Embassy of Japan on the left side of Jalan Tun Razak, while on the right side are the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the High Commission of Canada, the High Commission of the United States of America and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic.
Further down the road, after the junction with Jalan U Thant is the Embassy of the United States of America and the High Commission of the Republic of Singapore. High rise buildings at this section of Jalan Tun Razak are Menara See Hoy Chan and Dua Residency, a condominium block.

Next comes the junction with Lorong Kuda on the left, and beyond that, the Canadian High Commission and the Embassy of Brazil. Also at the junction here is Menara Tan & Tan, a high-rise office block belonging to housing developer Tan & Tan Developments. Other buildings along this stretch of Jalan Tun Razak includes Menara PNB and Bangunan LUTH and Perpustakaan Jabatan Mineral dan Geosains Malaysia.
The next intersection is with Jalan Ampang. Located in the vicinity are Ampang Park Shopping Centre, Integra Tower (site of the former Plaza Ampang), Bangunan MIDF, Vista Tower (formerly Empire Tower), Intermark Mall (formerly City Square), DoubleTree by Hilton (formerly Crown Princess), which is planned to open in August 2010. Further down, at the junction with Jalan Aman are Wisma Sin Heap Lee, MiCasa All Suite Hotel and Vista Damai.
The next interchange is with the Ampang Elevated Highway. Continuing down Jalan Tun Razak, you can see two skyscrapers, Menara Marinara and Menara Celcom on your right, while TH Technologies is on your left. Next come Institut Jantung Negara (National Heart Institute) and Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia (National Library of Malaysia) on the left and right side of the road. Next to Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia is Wisma Sejarah, the head office of the Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia (Malaysian Historical Society).
Continuing down Jalan Tun Razak, at the junction with Jalan Temerluh are the National Blood Centre (Pusat Darah Negara) and Balai Seni Lukis Negara (National Art Gallery). Next to the gallery is Istana Budaya, a performing-arts auditorium. Across the road from Istana Budaya is the sprawling complex of the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital.
The next junction is the Bulatan Pahang (Pahang Roundabout), where Jalan Tun Razak intersects with Jalan Pahang. Beyond that is the Titiwangsa Monorail Station and the KL Monorail line. After the station, Jalan Tun Razak crosses Sungai Gombak and continues to the intersection with Jalan Ipoh. Among the buildings at the vicinity of the intersection includes Wisma MAA, Grand Pacific Hotel, Bangunan MIC and Menara Perkim.
Jalan Tun Razak ends at Sungai Batu where it continues as Lebuhraya Mahameru.
