Jalan Yap Ah Loy, Kuala Lumpur

Jalan Yap Ah Loy is a short street in the inner city of Kuala Lumpur. It runs from the intersection with Jalan Tun HS Lee, across from Jalan Pasar Besar, to the intersection with Jalan Tun Tan Siew Sin, across from Jalan Hang Lekiu.

Jalan Yap Ah Loy was named in honour of the Chinese headman, the third Kapitan Cina of Kuala Lumpur, who was credited with placing the city on a firm footing to become the most successful urban area in the country. His house in the late 19th century is said to be located at nearby Jalan Pasar Besar, facing the Market Square.
How to reach Jalan Yap Ah Loy
Take the Ampang Line or Kelana Jaya Line of the RapidKL LRT to the Masjid Jamek LRT Station, then walk southeast down Jalan Tun Perak to reach the intersection with Jalan Hang Lekiu. Turn right and walk down Jalan Hang Lekiu until the intersection of Jalan Tun Tan Siew Sin. Jalan Yap Ah Loy is on the opposite side of Jalan Hang Lekiu.
