The Japanese Village is one of the main attractions at Berjaya Hills Resort in Bukit Tinggi, Pahang. Located at a height of 3,500 ft above sea level, it is cool and refreshing. The "village" can be explored on foot after you park your car. It has a Japanese Garden, a Botanical Garden, a Japanese Tea House, the Tatami Spa, the Ryo Zan Tei Japanese Restaurant and a souvenir shop.

The Japanese Village is immaculately maintained, so it is quite a wonderful experience to explore. The Japanese Garden and the Botanical Garden are located at different parts of the Japanese Village. Within the Botanical Garden, you get to enjoy different types of flowering plants.

There aren't any flowering plants in the Japanese Garden - even if there are, they are not the most conspicuous. Instead, you get to enjoy the lush surroundings. There are rocks and boulders, many of which are green with moss. Shrubs and bushes grow by the side of the pond, which has the expected collection of Japanese carps. A stream cascades over the rocks and meanders past Japanese stone lanterns and water basins.

A rustic hut forms the centrepiece of the Japanese Garden. It is lit by a single lantern. At its compound is a dry garden, with stepping stones casually making its way to the door. The inside of the hut is simple, yet elegant and in keeping with the feel of the garden.

People who enjoy the contemplative atmosphere of a Japanese garden should pay a visit to the Japanese Garden of Berjaya Hills. It is truly the highlight of your visit there.

The nearest major Japanese Garden to this is the one in Jurong, Singapore, which you can also visit right here.
