Java Lane,也称Jalan Jawa,是位于马六甲河北岸的一条小巷。它属于马六甲联合国教科文组织世界遗产地区的外围部分。Java Lane是马来西亚最早开发的城市规划地区之一，如今已经成为著名的文化遗产街巷。穿过马六甲河上的铁桥，就可以进入这条街，它的另一端则面向Jalan Bunga Raya敞开成为一个C字形。Java Lane始建于1880年，它的建成得益于由马六甲商人Tan Hoon Guan (1842-1912)领导进行的城市开发项目。如今在街道的两侧，仍然林立着民居和商铺。

Java Lane不但是马六甲的第一批现代化规划的公共建筑的代表，恐怕在马来西亚全国也是最早的。它的建筑体现了现代城市卫生系统和防火系统的理念。

在Java Lane建成之前，这个地区被称作Campong Java，是自荷兰殖民时期就来到马六甲的爪哇居民的聚居地。当时人们靠捕鱼和做小生意为生。其实在更早的葡萄牙殖民时期（甚至更早）爪哇人就来到了马六甲，他们在马六甲河附近区域居住下来，这些地方现在是Bridge Street, Kampong Pantai以及First Cross Street. 但是，在荷兰人时期，随着地位的日渐低落，他们又不得不搬离此地了。

19世纪80年代后期，马六甲地区居民数量的激增加速了Campong Java的城市化过程。Java Lane建立起来了，越来越多的砖砌房子取代了传统的矮房。新房子舒适程度大大提高，恐怕没有人还记得当时强加在当地村民身上的巨大冲击。村庄就这样渐渐消失了。现在还是有一些零星散布在Java Lane地区的马来式建筑留存下来，但即使是这些幸存的建筑，也渐渐淹没在自1880年以来的城市化洪流当中了。。。Madrasha Al-Hidayah所在的地方原来就是一所老式马来清真寺。

在1920年，英国当权者决定在Java Lane建立一个新市场，再次给这个地区的爪哇社区带来了剧烈的冲击。最后，爪哇和马来居民被安置在了一个新的村庄Kampung Morten。
