Kesang is a place on the northwestern part of Johor. Formerly of Muar District, it became part of the newly created Ledang District in 2008.

Kesang is located on the opposite site of the Muar River from Muar town. Kesang got its name from the Kesang territory which used to cover the whole of Muar District. In the late 19th century, this was an area ruled by Sultan Ali after he was dethroned as the Sultan of Johor. After he died, he willed it to his youngest son, Tengku Mahmood, which stirred his eldest son, Tengku Alam, to wage a civil war in Jementah.

Today, Kesang comprised two main roads namely Jalan Kesang and Jalan Kesang Laut by the coast. There are several villages in Kesang including Tanjung Gading, Karang Laut and Tanjung Agas.
