KLCC, Kuala Lumpur
KLCC, which stands for Kuala Lumpur City Centre, was the world's largest urban redevelopment project at the time of its construction. It was built to create a self-contained city within a city. KLCC covers an area of over 1.67 million sq metres (18 million sq feer). It includes commercial, retail, hotel, convention, residential, and entertainment facilities. The masterplan delineated the site into 22 freehold lots on the 20-hectare site.

The KLCC project is being undertaken in phases. Phase One was launched in 1992. It comprises:
the 88-storey PETRONAS Twin Towers
Suria KLCC - the 6-level 1.5 million sq. feet shopping centre
the 49-storey Menara Maxis
the 30-storey Menara ExxonMobil
the 32-storey Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur hotel
a 20-hectare (50-acre) Public Park
two Disctrict Cooling Centres
and a mosque
Phase Two Development comprises the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and The Binjai condominiums.
