Kota Lukut, Negri Sembilan
Kota Lukut or Fort Lukut is a historical fort in the town of Lukut in Negri Sembilan. It was built by Raja Jumaat to protect his tin interest. Raja Jumaat ibni Raja Jaafar is a prince from the Riau archipelago who settled in the area in the early 19th century, and eventually became the richest tin mining entrepreneur in Selangor.
Today the fort has been converted into a museum explaining the history of tin mining in the 19th century. The muzium was officially opened on 9 April 1999 by the then Menteri Besar of Negri Sembilan, Tan Sri Isa Abdul Samad.
How to reach Kota Lukut
You can reach Kota Lukut by taking Route 53, also called Jalan Seremban. This is the roadd off the Seremban-Port Dickson Expressway (E29).
