Kota Raja Mahdi, Selangor
Kota Raja Mahdi is a fort in Klang, Selangor. It was built by Raja Mahdi, a territorial chieftain in 19th century Selangor. Raja Mahdi was the person who started the Selangor Civil War of 1967 to oust his rival Raja Abdullah, and take control of the lucrative tin trade that has been developed upriver in Kuala Lumpur.

Raja Abdullah passed away of natural courses before the civil war was over, but in his place was a determined nobleman from Kedah, Tengku Kudin, who was married to the daughter of Sultan Abdul Samad. Eventually Raja Mahdi himself was forced out of Klang, seeking refuge in Kuala Selangor. His fort still stand today, within the grounds of the Klang Municipal Council.
