Kuching International Airport, or KIA, is the main gateway for visitors to Kuching, the capital of Sarawak. Upgraded at a cost of RM620 million, Kuching International Airport is capable of handling up to five million passengers.

In 2005 (if the figures could be believed), 3.35 million passengers passed through Kuching International Airport, including myself. There were 39,430 landings and take-offs, and 28,406 metric tonnes of cargo were also transported via Kuching International Airport.
