 Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition, Langkawi
Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition, or LIMA, is a biannual event for aerospace and maritime manufacturers. It is held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre, MIEC, located within the Langkawi International Airport. The next upcoming LIMA, the 10th edition, will be held from 1-5 December, 2009 in Langkawi.
LIMA is an event that attracts government officials and military representatives from many different countries. The LIMA '09 will be held at a single venue, rather than at two different venues as it was previously. The 2007 LIMA generated business totalling RM13 billion for the aerospace and maritime manufacturers.
The LIMA exhibition receives strong support from the Government of Malaysia and its various ministries including the Ministry of Defence, Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysian Navy, Royal Malaysian Air Force, Royal Malaysian Police, Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency, Royal Malaysian Custom, Department of Civil Aviation, Fire & Rescue Department, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, Malaysia Airports Berhad, Department of Fisheries, Malaysian Defence Industry Council and Maritime Institute of Malaysia.
