About the Lingkabau
Lingkabau refers to the Kadazan-Dusun subtribe that live in the Lingkabau Forest Reserve area, near Kota Marudu, in Sabah. There are about 2000 Lingkabau living in 10 villages, namely Kampung Kipopogong, Kampung Garong, Kampung Makatol Laut, Kampung Minsusurud, Kampung Sonsogon Makatol Darat, Kampung Teguhu, Kampung Songsogon Paliu, Kampung Nasapu, Kampung Gouton and Kampung Gana.
The Lingkabau, which is part of the Paitan group of Kadazan-Dusun, are also found in the Beluran and Pitas districts of the Kudat Division.
