About the Lotud
The Lotud are an ethnic group in Sabah. They live in the Tuaran District as far as Kampung Sukoli in the West Coast Division of Sabah. They only number about 5,000 people in 1985 but today is estimated to number more than 10,000 today (2009). They are a subgroup of the Dusun people which itself is today lumped as part of Kadazan-Dusun.
Many Lotud have converted to the Roman Catholic and Protestant faiths, but the number still practising animism on the decline.
