Masjid Zainal Abidin (The White Mosque)

Masjid Abidin was built between 1793 and 1808 by the ruler of that time, Sultan Zainal Abidin II (1793-1808). Originally, it was just a wooden structure. It was rebuilt in bricks during the reign of Sultan Umar (1839-1876). The mosque was further expanded upon by Tengku Panglima Besar, with the addition of minarets and pillars.
Masjid Abidin underwent restoration in the new millennium, and can now accommodate 2,500 worshippers within a single session.
