Minaret of Samarra of TTI
The Minaret of Samarra of Taman Tamadun Islam, Kuala Terengganu, is a replica of an Islamic monument in Samarra, Iraq. It is the minaret of the Great Mosque of Samarra. The minaret is 52 meters tall, and has a 33-meter base. Its most distinctive feature is the staircase that spirals around the minaret to the top. For that reason, the minaret is also called the Malwiya Minaret, meaning "snail shell minaret".
Today the Minaret of Samarra is part of the Samarra Archaeological City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Iraq.
