About the Orang Cocos
Orang Cocos is a tribe living in Sabah. They live mostly in Kampung Cocos, near Lahad Datu, in the Tawau Division. They are believed to have originated from the Cocos Islands, having settled in North Borneo in the 1950s. Today there are about 4000 of them in Sabah, the figure is eight times larger than their population in the Cocos Islands itself.
