About Parit Buntar

Parit Buntar is the administrative centre of the district of Kerian on the western part of Perak. It is located at the border between Perak and Kedah, and within a stone's throw from Bandar Baharu in Kedah, and Nibong Tebal in Penang.

Parit Buntar is said to have been named after a local leader Tok Buntar, who was instrumental in the construction of an irrigation canal that came to be known as Parit Buntar.

Getting there

Exit the North-South Expressway at either Exit 153, Bandar Baharu Interchange, or Exit 156, Jawi Interchange.
