Penang Chinese Girls' High School at Gottlieb Road, Penang, is one of the biggest Chinese schools in Malaysia. Often referred to as "Bing Hua", the Penang Chinese Girls' High School is renowned for producing students of academic excellence as well as those who excel in co-curricular activities.
The Penang Chinese Girls' High School was founded in 1920 by four prominent members of the Penang Hokkien Chinese community, namely Mr Tan Sin Chen, Mr Lim Lu Tek, Mr Khor Sen Lee and Mr Cheah Seng Tin. As it was founded to benefit the Hokkien community, it was initially called the Fukien Girls' School. Classes were held at Macalister Road.

On 11 March 1951, the Fukien Girls' School was renamed to embrace all Penang Chinese Girls, becoming the Penang Chinese Girls' High School and Penang Chinese Girls' Primary School. Incidentally, the primary school offers co-educational classes to both boys and girls.
The Penang Chinese Girls' Schools moved to their present premises at 2 Gottlieb Road in January 1956. In 1962, when the school accepted full government aid, it was divided into two section - the national type school and the independent high school for overaged pupils. The following year the Penang Chinese Girls' School started its kindergarten as well, thus providing continuous education from pre-school to high school.
