The islands around Penang are mostly small outcrops which extend out to the sea from the main island. Unlike Langkawi, there are only a few island located around Penang Island. The only island of any substantial size is Pulau Jerejak. Pulau Rimau, Pulau Kendi, Pulau Betong and Lovers' Isle are extensions of hills on the main island. These are all tiny islands no bigger than a few hectares. All are uninhabited, with only occasional visits by fishermen and anglers.
