The term Taoist Temple embraces all forms of Chinese temples in Penang, although within this context, Buddhist temples and clan temples are listed separately. The earliest Chinese temples to be built in Penang is likely to be Taoist, to venerate Taoist deities such as the Ma Chor Po, patron deity of seafarers, as well as to Tua Pek Kong, the god of prosperity. Eventually other Taoist temples were established in Penang for the many deities in the Taoist pantheon, including to Chor Soo Kong, Seng Ong, and other deities.

On this page we view the Taoist temples in Penang.
