Pengkalan Pasir is a small town in Kelantan.

Pengkalan Pasir was the town where a by-election was held on 6 December, 2005, following the death of the incumbent, Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Jaafar from the PAS political party on 31 October. The result of the by-election was that Hanafi Mamat of the United Malays National Organisation, under the Barisan Nasional ticket, won by 7,422 votes, defeating Hanifa Ahmad of PAS, who polled 7,288 votes.
