About Petagas War Memorial
Petagas War Memorial is a monument erected to commemorate those to gave their lives defending Sabah during the Japanese Occupation. It was erected on the spot where the Japanese massacred 176 freedom fighters on 21 January 1944. The names of all those who died were inscribed on the plaques. Every year a memorial service is head at there on 21 January, the anniversary of the massacre.

Take Bus No. 17B from Wawasan Plaza in the direction of Putatan.
