Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur
Petaling Street is a name synonymous with the Chinatown of Kuala Lumpur. The street now called Jalan Petaling stretches from Jalan Tun HS Lee in the north to Bulatan Merdeka in the south. However, when people talk about Petaling Street, they usually mean the pedestrianized section between the intersection of Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock to the intersection of Jalan Sultan. A pedestrian shelter has also been erected to cover this stretch, and Chinese entrance gates erected on either ends of the sheltered area.

Petaling Street is a place to shop of things Chinese, from preserved meats to herbs to cheap clothing and off-branded goods. It is in fact a bazaar catering to the taste of the working class.
