Pulau Kukup, Johor
Pulau Kukup is a small island in Pontian District, Johor. The island is located across a narrow straight from the fishing village of Kukup on the mainland. It is mostly covered with mangrove swamp.
Pulau Kukup is 6.4 sq km in size but surrounded by mudflats totalling 8 sq km. It was made a national park on 27 March 1997, and granted the status of Wetland of International Importance by Ramsar Convention Bureau.
