About Sikuati
Sikuati is a coastal village on the west coast of the Kudat Division of Sabah. It is about 23 km to the south of Kudat. Most of its small population comprises the Rungus tribe. People usually just pass by it. However, there are two reasons to stopover.
The first is Sikuati Bay, or Teluk Sikuati, a long stretch of clean white sand against the South China Sea. It's for you to sit and admire, not really for you to swim, as the waves can get rather choppy.
The second reason for stopping over at Sikuati is the Sunday farmer's market, or tamu. This is where the Rungus tribespeople come to sell their wares and crafts. You can get very nice beadwork at prices you could never expect in places like Kota Kinabalu.
