Stadium Merdeka is a sports stadium in Kuala Lumpur. It was built on the occasion of the declaration of independence of Malaysia on 31 August, 1957. The name "merdeka" means independence.

Stadium Merdeka has a seating capacity of 20,000 for football matches. It was expanded to 45,000 capacity, but in the restoration of 2007, returned to its original 1957 seating capacity.

You can take the KL Monorail to the stadium. The Maharajalela Monorail Station is located nearest to the stadium.
