The Sungai Petani Clock Tower, also called the Lim Lean Teng Clock Tower, is the most recognisable icon of the town of Sungai Petani. Located along Jalan Ibrahim, the clock tower was erected by early 20th century Penang millionnaire Lim Lean Teng to commemorate the Silver Jubilee (25th anniversary) of the marriage, in 1893, of King George V, then Prince George Frederick Ernest Albert the Duke of York, to Princess Victoria Mary of Teck, who became his consort with the title Queen Mary. It was completed in 1920, over a year after the jubilee celebrations.

Apart from Sungai Petani, Lim Lean Teng's legacy includes many of the historic buildings in Penang, as well as the Han Jiang Teochew Ancestral Temple, Han Chiang High School, Lim Lean Teng Mansions, to mention a few. Lim Lean Teng Road was named after him.
