About Telok Melano
Telok Melano is a small Malay village located about 45 minutes from Sematan, Sarawak. A day trip from Kuching, Telok Melano offers picturesque views of the bay with Gunung Melano in the background.
Visitors to Telok Melano can go camping, do nature walks, go fishing or hire a boat for an outing. There are also accommodation for a Homestay programme. This can be arranged with the Fisheries Department Authority (Tel: 082 711358) or with Borneo Inbound Tours & Travel (Tel: 082 641741).
Getting there
Take STC Bus No. EP7 from Kuching to Lundu (fare: RM8.30, duration: 1 1/2 hours). From Lundu, catch STC Bus No. 17 to Sematan (fare: RM3.70). From Sematan, reaching Telok Melano is a bit tricky: ask around with the fishing boats to find out any going that way. Otherwise you can hire a speedboat for RM250.
