About the Tidong

Tidong is a people living in Borneo. They can be found mostly in the Bulungan Regency of East Kalimantan, Indonesia, but are also found in Tawau, Sabah.

There are today about 45,000 Tidong people of which 25,000 are living in Sabah. They are believed to be related to, or share similar characteristics, to the Kadazan-Dusun. They are mostly farmers who practise slash-and-burn agriculture, though some are ocean fishermen.
