Titi Kerawang is a small cascade in Teluk Bahang, Penang. It offers the people of Penang respite from the hustle and bustle of city living. Only a 40 minute drive from George Town depending on traffic situation of the day, Titi Kerawang allows us to be surrounded by nature. The only reminder of civilisation comes from the water pipes belonging to the Penang Water Authority (PBA).  The stream at Titi Kerawang forms a gushing cascade. In actual fact, the Titi Kerawang falls are now much reduced from its former self, since the water utility board start tapping its flow, to meet the increasing demands of Penang's growing population. In addition, vegetable and fruit farms also get their share from this stream. Nevertheless, on particularly wet seasons, you can still expect a gushing torrent from this fall. I shot these photographs for AsiaExplorers and Penang Travel Tips during evening, just before the sun set. I was bitten silly by mosquitoes for this little adventure! You can see the PBB pipeline on the left side of the photo. I used a slow shutter speed to blur out the water, but other than that, no other form of special effect is employed. The reduced light of the day allows me to use a slow speed with a small aperture. Associated SiteTiti Kerawang Photo Gallery The old British-built bridge at Titi Kerawang.
