About True Jesus Church
True Jesus Church is a church in Sandakan, Sabah was the first True Jesus Church in Malaysia. It was established in 1927.
The first True Jesus Church sermon in Malaysia was preached in 1926. Following that first sermon, a deacon from the True Jesus Church in Singapore, John Voon, gave a copy of the Holy Spirit News to his friend Tsen En-Fook of Kota Kinabalu. Holy Spirit News was published by the Nanjing True Jesus Church General Assembly, and encapsulates the teachings of the church. Tsen passed the material to his friend Lee Siak-In who was in Sandakan. Lee was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, but after reading the material, he was so moved that he went to the True Jesus Church in Singapore, where he met up with John Voon. After going through their teachings, he was baptised into the True Jesus Church on 11 January 1927, and three days later, he received the Holy Spirit, according to True Jesus Church teaching. Returning to Sandakan, he established the True Jesus Church there.
