Wang Tangga is a valley on the opposite end of Gua Kelam from Kaki Bukit. The name "wang" which is also sometimes written as "awang" refers to a hollow valley with the sky above. Today Wang Tangga is a popular picnic spot. There is a stream that runs through it with a few man-made cascades across it.
Wang Tangga, Perlis.
Wang Tangga today has been nicely done up as a park. Footpaths are available for people to stroll around. There are a couple of bridges across the stream, and they are quite scenic. Further away, there is even a place for camping. I visited Wang Tangga with my fiancée Chooi Yoke as we documented the sights in Perlis for AsiaExplorers.
How to go to Wang Tangga
Wang Tangga, on the far end of Gua Kelam, is located on the northernmost part of Malaysia, in Wang Kelian State Park. From Kangar, take Route 7 northwards. On the way, you will pass by the Timah Tasoh Dam. Eventually you arrive at a T-junction with one fork leading to Padang Besar while the other leads to Wang Kelian. Go in the direction of Wang Kelian, looking out for roadsign pointing to Gua Kelam. You need to go through Gua Kelam to reach Wang Tangga.
