Zoos, or zoological gardens, are a showcase of the wildlife of the world. In Malaysia, there are presently three prominent zoos. Most were established in the first half of the 20th century, and are still being operated today. Of the three, Taiping Zoo is the oldest while Zoo Negara in Ulu Klang the biggest. Melaka Zoo is said to have the best collection of animals, though.
