Bedok Reservoir Park, Singapore

Bedok Reservoir Park is a public park developed around the Bedok Reservoir. The park allows the residents of the neighbouring townships to enjoy greenery and recreation. Among the activities you can enjoy here include fishing, sailing and canoeing. There are paths for biking and jogging as well.
The Bedok Reservoir was developed out of a former sand quarry. The reservoir covers 880,000 sq km and has a capacity of 12.8 million cubit meters. Its shoreline covers 4.3 km. Bodok Reservoir Park covers 417,000 sq km.
Getting there
The Bedok Reservoir Park is best reached by car. The nearest MRT station is quite a distance away. The park is closest to Bedok Reservoir Rd. If you are coming from the Bedok MRT Station, go west on New Upper Changi Road till intersection with Bedok North Ave 1. Turn right, go north along Bedok North Ave 1 until T-junction. Turn left and go west on Bedok N Rd. It passes under the interchange with Pan Island Expressway and continues to intersection with Bedok Reservoir Rd. Turn right and go along Bedok Reservoir Rd which passes along the southern shore of the reservoir.

Residents in the neighbourhoods surrounding Bedok Reservoir Park complained of green flies which swarm the area. The green flies, according to the National Environment Agency, are midges, a type of bug that resembles the mosquito, but do not bite or carry diseases. To control the midge infestation, the area was sprayed with safe pesticide.
