The East-West Line of the Singapore MRT is a 49.2 km long mass rapid transit train line across Singapore from east to west.

At time of writing (May 2010), there are 29 stations numbered EW1 to EW29, arranged in sequence, and two additional stations for the extension line to Changi Airport, namely CG1 and CG2. The line is colour-coded in green for easy recognition.

EW4Tanah MerahThe Tanah Merah MRT Station is above ground. If you wish to go to the Expo site or Changi Airport, you need to get off the train here and make a cross-platform transfer to take the Changi Airport Extension line. Similarly, if you are taking the train from Changi Airport, you will have to make a cross-platform transfer to continue your journey Pasir Ris-bound or Joo Koon-bound.EW4
EW5BedokThe Bedok MRT Station is above ground. It is a short walk to the Bedok Bus Interchange.NONE
EW6KembanganThe Kembangan MRT Station is above ground. It is right above Siglap Canal.NONE
EW7EunosThe Eunos MRT Station is above ground. It is next to the Eunos Bus Interchange. The station has a traditional Malay roof, albeit constructed with modern material, to reflect the surrounding Malay neighbourhoods of Geyland Serai.NONE
EW8Paya LebarThe Paya Lebar MRT Station is the first Singapore MRT station to serve both the above ground East-West Line (EW8)and the underground Circle Line (CC9). Passengers transferring between the two lines can take the series of escalators linking them.CC9

EW13City HallThe City Hall MRT Station is an underground station. It is one of the two main interchanges on the East-West Line in the Civic District in the Downtown Core of Singapore. From here, you can transfer to the North-South Line. NS25
EW14Raffles PlaceThe Raffles Place MRT Station is an underground station. It is the other main interchange on the East-West Line where you transfer to the North-South Line. Until the opening of the Dhoby Ghaut station in 2003, this was the largest and biggest MRT station in Singapore. (The deepest MRT station to-date is the Bras Basah station which opened on 17 April, 2010.)NS26
EW15Tanjong PagarThe Tanjong Pagar MRT Station is an underground station used mostly by the business precinct of Shenton Way and Robinson Road.NONE
EW16Outram ParkThe Outram Park MRT Station is an underground station. It is the interchange between the North-East Line and the East-West Line. The station is located under the convergence of Eu Tong Sen Street, Cantonment Road and Outram Road. As the North East Line was built long after the East-West Line, you will have to use an underpass to transfer between the two.NE3
EW17Tiong BahruThe Tiong Bahru MRT Station is an underground station connected to Tiong Bahru Plaza shopping mall. It is the last underground station in the western direction.NONE
EW18RedhillThe Redhill MRT Station is an elevated station. It is the first elevated station on the western portion of the East-West Line. It is also the smallest station in the entire MRT system, and the only one where the two platforms are not parallel to each other.NONE
EW19QueenstownThe Queenstown MRT Station is an above-ground station that appears sandwiched between two high-rise residential blocks - the 38-storey Queens Condominium and the new 43-storey HDB Flats.NONE
EW20CommonwealthThe Commonwealth MRT Station is a three-storeys tall station with two exits, at Tanglin Halt Road and Commonwealth Drive.NONE
EW21Buona VistaThe Buona Vista MRT Station serves the Buona Vista township. This above ground station will be an interchange when the Circle Line (under construction at time of writing, May 2010) passes through it. Nearby sights include the National University of Singapore and the National University Hospital.CC22
EW22DoverThe Dover MRT Station, and above ground station, was added to the existing East-West Line which was already operating. It was opened to the public on 18 October, 2001. The was the first elevated MRT station in Singapore with the platforms on either sides of the railway line, rather than an island platform with the tracks on either side.NONE
EW23ClementiThe Clementi MRT Station is an above ground station. Opened in 1988, it is one of the older MRT stations in Singapore. The station is near the National University of Singapore as well as the Clementi residential neighbourhood.NONE
EW24Jurong EastThe Jurong East MRT Station is an above ground station. This major station is an interchange for the East-West Line with the North-South Line. It serves as the terminus for the western end of the North-South Line.NS1
EW25Chinese GardenThe Chinese Garden MRT Station is an elevated station. It serves Jurong East New Town and the Chinese Garden, from which it derives its name.NONE
EW26LakesideThe Lakeside MRT Station is an above ground station serving the Taman Jurong and Jurong West neighbourhoods. It derives its name from its proximity to Jurong Lake.NONE
EW27Boon LayThe Boon Lay MRT Station is an above-ground station serving the eastern portion of Jurong West New Town as well as the Jurong Industrial Estate. From here, you can take the feeder buses to go to Nanyang Technologial University (Bus 179 and 199) and Jurong Bird Park (Bus 194, 251). It is integrated to the Jurong Point Shopping Mall.NONE
EW28PioneerThe Pioneer MRT Station is an above ground station on the western extension of the East-West Line. It only opened on 28 February, 2009.NONE
EW29Joo KoonThe Joo Koon MRT Station is an above ground station on the western extension of the East-West Line opened on 28 February, 2009. This is the station to go to the Singapore Discovery Centre.NONE
Changi Airport Extension
CG1ExpoThe Expo MRT Station is an above ground station opened in 2001. It is an extended fork from the East-West Line to serve Changi Airport. The station was designed by the famous architect Sir Norman Foster, and employed the use of titanium, steel and glass in its design. This station becames very busy whenever there is an event at the Singapore Expo.NONE
CG2Changi AirportThe Changi Airport MRT Station is the terminus of an extended fork of the East-West Line. It opened on 8 February, 2002 to serve the airport, and is located between Terminal 2 and 3.NONE
