Esplanade Bridge is one of the newer bridges in Singapore. It crosses Marina Bay at the mouth of the Singapore River. This 260-meter bridge is made of concrete and has seven graceful arches. The bridge carries the new eight-lane Esplanade Drive, which links the Nicoll Highway with Collyer Quay, which the financial district at Shenton Way begins. Walkways on both sides of the bridge allows pedestrians to go from the Esplanade Theatres to The Fullerton.

Construction of the Esplanade Bridge began in 1994. It was completed in March 1997. As a result of its construction, and that of the adjacent Marina Centre, Queen Elizabeth Walk lost its seafront position. The famous Merlion statue was also relocated in 2002 to the other side of the Esplanade Bridge.

Getting there
