Heritage Buildings of Singapore

Let me tell you this: it is not true that Singapore has torn down all its heritage buidings. Despite the general perception, there are more Heritage Buildings in Singapore than many other older cities in Asia. Unlike some cities that keep everything and maintain none, in Singapore we are selective of what we intend to cherish and treasure, and we maintain these well.
Yes, it is true that in the headlong rush to be modern, we have made our streets spick-and-span. So we were accused of having swept away all the Asian charm and character. It's no fault to want to be clean and tidy. We are still Asian at heart. But if you want an Asia with grime on the wall, there's plenty already.
On this page, I want to celebrate all the heritage buildings and heritage institutions of Singapore, tell you their story, and correct the misconception that everything heritage in Singapore is lost and gone. Check out also the list of Museums in Singapore
