Killiney House was built in 1842 after Oxley bought the land from the East India Company in 1837. Later in 1847 he built another bigger house on the property, and called it The Pavilion. A Jew named Sir Reuben Manasseh Meyer bought Killiney House in 1890. He then rebuilt it and renamed it Belle Vue. Due to his staying in Oxley Rise, he established the Chesed-El Synagogue there. Belle Vue was demolished in 1982.
