MacKenzie Road, Singapore
MacKenzie Road (map) is one of the minor roads in downtown Singapore. It runs from Selegie Road to the interchange at Bukit Timah Road. It is on one of the less developed part of urban Singapore, with stretches of open space and greenery.
MacKenzie Road was named after Reverend H.L. MacKenzie. The Hokkiens called it Tek Kha Chooi Tee meaning "tank under the bamboo grove". They may be referring to the water tank belonging to a local Tamil, Narappan, who sold fresh water from his tank.
