Orchard Central is touted as the first vertical shopping mall in Singapore. What this means is that the outlets are stacked vertically and are accessed through escalators. There are a total of 52 escalators at the mall, including six so-called super escalators, including the pair that transport shoppers from the main entrance directly to the fourth level. In addition, there are 12 glass elevators.
