Sophia Road, Singapore
Sophia Road (map) is a minor road in Singapore. It begins at the intersection with Selegie Road, where it is almost parallel with Wilkie Road. From there, it continues in a semi-crescent westward to join with Mount Sophia, and ends at a sharp bend to link with Wilkie Road again.
Sophia Road is residential and quiet. It is lined with low-rise apartment blocks. Among the sights on Sophia Road is Peace Centre and St Margaret's Primary School.
Sophia Road is believed to have been named after Lady Sophia Raffles (née Hull), who became the second wife of Stamford Raffles after the death of his first wife Olivia Mariamne Fancourt.
