Thomson is an area in Central Singapore south of Ang Mo Kio and west of Bishan. It is located close to the MacRitchie Reservoir and the Upper and Lower Pierce Reservoirs. The area was named after Thomson Road, which in turn was named after John Turnbull Thomson (1821-1884) who was the British surveyor from 1852 to 1853.
