Yue Hwa Building (see map) is a 6-storey building in the Singapore Chinatown. It was designed by the architectural firm of Swan and Maclaren and completed in 1936. The building has housed several Chinese establishments.

The Yue Hwa Building was the Nam Tin Hotel, later known as the Great Southern Hotel until 1994. In 1993 it was sold to Hong Kong businessman Yu Kwok Chun for S$25 million, to house the Singapore flagship store of the Yue Hwa Chinese Products Emporium, which opened in 1996.

The Yue Hwa Building is a gazetted building that will be preserved by the Urban Redevelopment Authority for its architectureal merits.

Getting there

Take the North East Line of the Singapore MRT to the Chinatown MRT Station and walk a short distance from there.
