The Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, also called the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, on the banks of the Mahaweli River, is one of the best botanical gardens in Sri Lanka, and one of the most beautiful in Asia. It is located just 6 km from Kandy, the second largest city in Sri Lanka.
The botanical gardens is huge, and although I walked briskly, I did not have enough time to fully explore it. Like most well-organised gardens, the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens have the plants grouped together. So we could admire different types of plams, followed by bamboos, orchids, and so on.
