The Church of the Immaculate Conception is one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in Bangkok. It is located in the Dusit area of Bangkok, a short distance from the St Francis Xavier Church.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception was built by French missionaries in 1837. It stands on the site on a previous Roman Catholic church built in 1674 by Father Louis Laneau, a leader of the Eurasian community of Portuguese extraction, during the reign of King Narai of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. When Ayutthaya fell to Burmese onslaught, there was general turmoil that halted the Catholic activities in Siam until a new capital was established at Thonburi.

The descendents of the Eurasians as well as Vietnamese who led Cambodia following wars and religious persecution there, during the 17th century, still live in the enclave. The settlement around the church is known as Bot Ban Khamen, or Cambodia Village, although the people there are in fact ethnic Vietnamese who lived in Cambodia.
