Noppharat Thara Beach is a 3 kilometre stretch of golden sands next to Aonang, in Krabi. In comparison, Noppharat Thara is the quieter cousin of Aonang, and a more likely place to encounter a Thai-style beach getaway, a place where the locals come for their picnics. Groves of casuarina provide a shady retreat from the blazing sun. The sea off Noppharat Thara Beach is part of the Noppharat Thara - Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park, a place of great beauty.

Rocky islets at Noppharat Thara Beach.
Nopphara Thara Beach is 18 kilometres from Krabi Town. From here, one may hire a speedboat or long tail boat to any of the outlying islands, including Chicken Island, Koh Poda, Koh Tap, and the Phi Phi archipelago.
So far - but not for long - Noppharat Thara is still spared the garish tourist amenities that have descended on other places in South Thailand such as Phuket, Koh Samui and even Aonang next door.
