Khao Mor (Rock Gardens), Wat Pho, Bangkok
Khao Mor, or model hills, are the rock gardens within Wat Pho. They were created by King Rama lll who installed 24 such gardens all around Wat Pho. The rocks for these gardens were taken from the rock garden built during the reign of King Rama II in the Grand Palace. King Rama III added Chinese pagodas as well as little statues to these gardens.
Each of the rock garden bears a name according to the type of plan grown there. Among them are Khao Asoke, Khao Samor, Khao Tonpeep, Khao Kem, Khao Sadao, Khao Tonsai, Khao Pikul, Khao Ruesidadton and Khao Sivalueng.
