Khao Rang, Phuket

Khao Rang is a hill with a park on the northwest part of Phuket Town. From here, one gets a panoramic view of Phuket Town below as well as some of the offshore islands. Many inhabitants of Phuket come here for their exercise, while some come to picnic.
In the middle of the park at Khao Rang Hills is the statue of the governor of Phuket during the reign of King Rama V (Chulalongkorn). This person is a significant figure not only in South Thailand, but in Malaysia as well.
Khao Rang, or Rang Hill, is one of two hills overlooking Phuket City. It is a favorite spot for joggers. The road up, Thanon Khao Rang, zigzags to the top. Along the way, it passes a Buddhist temple with a big seated Buddha. The top top of Khao Rang Hill is a flat shady park area. Over here, you can see the statue of Khaw Sim Bee.
There are two small restaurants built on the hillside overlooking Phuket City. My business partner brought me here once to try the iced coffee. It was really delicious (thick and sweet)!
Getting there
The Khao Rang is located to the northwest of Phuket City. There are three roads leading up to it.
