Klong Thom Hot Springs is forty kilometres south of Krabi. What makes this hot spring different from others is that in addition to pools of hot springs, the water cascades down in the form of a hot waterfall, emptying into the cool stream below. It is possible to bath in both the cool water of the stream mixed with the shower of hot water from the springs above, making for a most relaxing experience. The minerals and the temperature (38 - 40 ºC) makes this an ideal destination for a hydrotherapy bath.

Like most places in Thailand, there is an entrance fee to visit Klong Thom, and the price is usually different between locals and foreigners. Naturally it costs foreigner more - usually 200% more. During ancient times, Klong Thom was a trading stop along the ancient marine silk route. Today ancient beads found here are on display among the artifacts at the museum of Wat Klong Thom.
I visited Klong Thom with busloads of AsiaExplorers members, when we explore the coastal sights in South Thailand. Klong Thom does not get many visitors as it is away from the main tourist belt such as Phuket and Koh Samui.
